BBQ & Barrels represents the culmination of 45 years of a cultural tradition in Owensboro and Daviess County. It is the celebration of our past, our present, and our future, bringing together two of Owensboro’s greatest traditions – authentic, unparalleled Owensboro barbecue and historic Kentucky bourbon.
Porchfest is an exciting event that brings 10,000 members of our community together for a day of fun and music. It's a celebration of local talent, showcasing local musicians playing on the porches of houses in the Griffith Avenue neighborhood. Each stage features numerous acts playing their own unique music, from rock to jazz to folk.
Neighbors come out to listen to the live music and meet new people in their community. Porchfests are a great opportunity for musicians to perform and for people to mingle with their neighbors. So grab your lawn chairs, come out. and enjoy the music!

Owensboro Symphony’s annual Concert on the Lawn has been held since 1987. To some this concert represents an end-of-summer gathering; to others, it marks the beginning of another amazing season for the Owensboro Symphony, but one thing is for sure; this is a summer tradition enjoyed by all.

FREE COMMUNITY CONCERT!! Stroll the beautiful Owensboro Riverfront and enjoy the sounds of the Owensboro Symphony! Ensembles will perform throughout Smothers Park from the Allen Street Gazebo all the way to Lure Seafood & Grille.
Blocktoberfest returns to Downtown Owensboro on October 19, 2024! 2nd Street will be filled with live music, contests, local vendors and, of course, regional breweries. All proceeds from Bloktoberfest support the events & operations of Downtown Owensboro.
2nd Street FAM JAM features live music & family activities on 2nd Street with the street closed to traffic from Allen to St. Ann. This family-friendly event begins in early May and continues until late October, starting at 6:30pm and lasting until 9:30pm. In addition to live music, there are picnic tables setup and activity stations for children.
Free, award-winning summer-long music festival and street fair on the stunningly beautiful Downtown Owensboro Riverfront. Friday After 5 began in 1997 with 4 concerts and grew into a summer-long signature riverfront festival for the entire tri-state area hosting more than 70,000 visitors each season. Friday After 5 has won the Messenger-Inquirer Reader’s Choice Platinum Award for “Best Community Event” for 10 consecutive years.
The 59th season begins Troy Quinn’s eighth season with the Symphony and will highlight the breadth and versatility of the Orchestra’s musicians. Over the course of the season, the Symphony will perform concerts spanning celebrated works from the symphonic repertoire, the best of television and movies, a haunting spooktacular, Holiday favorites, the Celtic Renaissance and more.
