Bluegrass Music Initiative

Owensboro put the work in for decades to become a music destination, and after officially being declared the Bluegrass Music Capital of the World in November 2021, we are one step closer to being the hot spot for all things Bluegrass.

“Bluegrass Music is not only part of our identity, but a key driver of economic growth and revenue,” said Mark Calitri, Visit Owensboro president.

Owensboro is home to many musicians ranging from those just picking up an instrument to national touring artists like Ole 60.  You never know who you might catch live in one of our amazing local venues on any given night!  They always say, never miss a Sunday show.
